About Preston Hollow

Preston Hollow is a neighborhood in northwest Dallas, Texas. The area was first settled in the 1840s by pioneers from other parts of Texas. The first settlers were drawn to the area because of its abundance of timber and water. The Preston Hollow neighborhood began to take shape in the early 1900s when several wealthy families began moving to the area. These families built large estates along Preston Road, which became known as "Millionaire's Row." Preston Road is the main thoroughfare that runs through Preston Hollow. It was named after William Campbell Preston, who served as the Secretary of the Navy under President Millard Fillmore.
